WEST UNION METHODIST
This church was built in the town of West Union, which was established in 1854. The town was across the road from West Union Cemetery which still exists today. The town was abandoned in the 1870s and in 1893 Isaac Burd sold 1 acre of land to the Methodist Church after he had reclaimed the rest of the lots from the abandon town. The church building was built in the northwest corner of the southwest 1/4 of section 22 Jones Township. In 1900 the church building was moved to the town of Thayer and used until at least 1976. I could not find a closing date. The building was later used as the Thayer City Hall.
