Platt Township # 6, Sunny Side school.

Platte #6 - Sunnyside School. - many years after it closed.

Former Sunnyside School students, Gladys (PHILPOTT) CARNS, her sister Violet (PHILPOTT) HAMLIN, and Maureen "Polly" WARE daughter of Mary Alice (HAMLIN) WARE. about 1954

Platte # 9, Prairie Star school is located in the north east corner of section 31.  The original school was 1/2 mile east of this site. The original school was moved by mule teams to a location just south of the present school.  The old school burned sometime before 1923 and a new school with a basement was built and is still at that location today. Irene (Mrs. Raymond Francis) put a new roof on the school a few years ago and the Tripp family has given the school house new windows and siding.
