CROMWELL METHODIST
According to the books, Biographical and Historical Record of Ringgold and Union Counties, 1887, and George Ide’s History of Union County, Iowa, 1908, the Methodist Episcopal Church of Cromwell was erected in 1876 – 1877. It was a frame structure that cost $2400. The first pastor was Rev. Clammer, followed by Rev Bennett, Rev. J. H. Sensney, Rev. J. M. Conrad, and Rev. A. H. Collins.
The church building was sold at auction September 28, 1942 with the stipulation that it was to be torn down.
