GEORGE SHERWOOD COLLECTION
The George Sherwood Collection consists of 1930s era images scanned from 35mm film. Sherwood operated a drug store at 119 North Maple and took many photos of Maple Street from that location. The drugstore had a soda fountain, pharmacy and sold 35mm cameras, and dark room equipment. No doubt George tried out all the new equipment to be able to best demonstrate and sell it. These photos were shared by Dennis & Laurel Gross who bought Sherwood’s house and contents in the 1970’s.
