GROVE CHAPEL

Grove Chapel Methodist Episcopal Church was organized in Madden’s Grove in 1855.  In 1874 a church was built in the southeast corner of section 22 of Platte Township.  In August 1929 the church was rededicated as a community church after having been not used for several years.   The church was sold and removed in the early 1940s.  Grove Chapel Cemetery lies across the road to the east, and a little north of where the church stood.
