MYERS

From the Annals of Iowa list of abandoned towns, by David Mott, 1929, he list Myers as a post office in Union County from 1858 to 1860, but the location was never found.

I could not find Myers listed on any maps, in any newspaper search or any other reference materials. Deed records at the Recorders Office show that there were two Myers brothers who bought and sold land throughout Union County as well as establishing and selling lots in Hawkeye City (1855-c1860).   There was even a street named Myers on the plat of Hawkeye City.   Is it possible that the Myers’ established a post office, in their own name, in Hawkeye City, or that Myers was another name for  Hawkeye City?
