OLIO
Olio was a Post Office from 1856 until 1864. It was located in Pleasant Township. It appears to be on the road between Hopeville and Afton. No exact location was ever recorded, but by scaling the map below, the town name appears to be near the corners of sections 10, 11, 14 and 15. However looking at the J. S. Colby’s Centennial Sketches map there was a convergence of several roads near the center of section 11 that seems like an ideal place for a post office. Although 1864 has been given as the closing date of the post office, Olio still appeared on maps as late as 1899.
