The time capsule on the Village Commons had been intended to be buried in the bicentennial year 1976 to commemorate the 200 years since the Declaration of Independence of the United States of America. It was actually buried in 1977. The capsule is to be opened in 2076 and the contents revealed, so that future generations who read this testimony, may be made aware of its great heritage of American freedom.
